Privacy Policy

Effective Date: October 21, 2026

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information β€” your name, email address, and password (stored in hashed form), or basic profile details from Google if you sign in with Google.
  • Profile information β€” for Marketers, this includes your title, bio, portrait, company history, portfolio links, social links, and any other details you choose to add to your public profile.
  • Inquiry information β€” when a Brand or visitor submits an inquiry to a Marketer, we collect their name, email, company, message, and inquiry type.
  • Usage and device information β€” general technical information such as pages viewed and browser/device details, collected automatically as you use the Platform.

2. Cookies

We use a small number of functional cookies to keep you signed in: an auth_token cookie (your session token) and a user_role cookie (used to route you to the right area of the Platform, such as your dashboard or the admin panel). Both are set to expire after 24 hours, and are cleared immediately when you log out.

Analytics (only with your consent). If you click β€œAccept analytics” on our cookie banner, we load the following tools to understand how the Platform is used and to improve it. Until you accept, no analytics cookie is set: Microsoft Clarity and PostHog are not loaded, the Meta Pixel sends nothing, and the Google tag runs in Google Consent Mode with storage denied β€” it sends only cookieless, anonymous page-view signals, without any identifier.

  • Google Analytics 4 / Google Tag Manager (Google LLC) β€” page views, traffic sources, device and approximate location. Cookies: _ga, _ga_* (up to 2 years).
  • Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation) β€” heatmaps and session recordings of clicks and scrolling. Cookies: _clck (1 year), _clsk (1 day).
  • PostHog (PostHog Inc., US Cloud) β€” product analytics, session recordings and error reports. Cookie / storage: ph_*_posthog (1 year).
  • Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.) β€” page visits, to measure and improve our ads on Facebook and Instagram. Cookie: _fbp (3 months).

Session recordings mask everything you type (emails, phone numbers, OTPs, payment details). When you are signed in, analytics events are linked to your account ID and role only β€” never your email. We do not use advertising cookies and do not sell or share this data for advertising.

Withdrawing consent. You can change your choice at any time from Cookie Settings in the footer. If you withdraw, we stop the analytics tools immediately and delete their cookies from your browser. Withdrawing is as easy as giving consent and doesn't affect anything else on the Platform.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate, maintain, and secure the Platform
  • Review and verify Marketer profiles before they go live
  • Route inquiries from Brands to the relevant Marketer
  • Communicate with you about your account or an inquiry you submitted
  • Understand how the Platform is used, so we can improve it

4. How We Share Your Information

We share information in the following limited circumstances:

  • Public profile data β€” a Marketer's published profile is visible to anyone who visits the Platform; that is the purpose of a public portfolio.
  • Inquiries β€” details you submit through an inquiry form are shared with the relevant Marketer so they can respond to you directly.
  • Service providers β€” we use Cloudinary to host images, a hosting/database provider to run the Platform, Razorpay for payments, and for analytics Google Analytics (cookieless until you consent) and β€” only if you consent β€” Microsoft Clarity, PostHog and the Meta Pixel (see Cookies). These providers only process data on our behalf.
  • Legal reasons β€” if required to comply with applicable law, regulation, or legal process.

We do not sell your personal data.

5. Your Choices & Rights

Marketers can edit or remove most of their profile information directly from their dashboard at any time. For anything you can't change yourself β€” including requesting a copy of your data, correcting inaccurate information, or deleting your account entirely β€” email us at OG@madrasmarketers.com and we will action your request.

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you have the right to access a summary of your personal data and how it is processed, to correct, complete, update or erase it, to withdraw consent at any time (for analytics, via Cookie Settings in the footer), to nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf, and to have your grievances redressed. Grievances can be sent to our Grievance Officer at OG@madrasmarketers.com; if you are not satisfied with our response, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Platform. If you delete your account, we will remove your profile from public view and delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it for legal reasons.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including storing passwords in hashed form. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

The Platform is intended for use by individuals aged 18 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18.

9. International Users

Madras Marketers is operated from India. If you access the Platform from outside India, your information may be processed and stored in India or in other countries where our service providers operate.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
